Benign Lesions / Skin Tag Removal

Benign Skin lesions are found on or just below the skin. A few examples of skin lesions are epidermoid cysts, lipomata, skin tags and moles.

A benign skin lesion can be a range of lumps and bumps including cysts, barnacles sebera, seborrheic keratosis, and skin tags. Most skin growths (lesions) are harmless and don’t need to be removed. However sometimes these skin lesions can cause you to lose confidence in your appearance. We encourage you to come in for a free consultation.

Treatment Description

Treatment will depend on the size of the lesion, how deep it is and where it is on your body. Benign skin lesion removal takes place under local anesthetic.

We remove the lesion at its base so it is at the level of the surrounding skin. This method is used for lesions such as keratosis, and skin tags. For larger moles or lesions we recommend seeing a dermatologist that will assist in complete removal.

How long does it last?

After your skin has healed you should see the scaring reduce gradually over time.

What to expect

Your specialist will numb the area for optimal comfort during the procedure. The lesion or skin tag will be assessed for individual patient to determine the removal method.
